Amapola was awarded the Tinig Award; a trophy from the Manila Filmfest Award in tandem with composer George Canseco; the Awit Awards Trophy twice; and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Philippines National Press Club in 1987; and the Hall of Fame recognition from Aliw Awards. In the United States, Amapola was awarded the Eye Award for Best Entertainer of the year, the Philippine Cultural Award in San Francisco, The Philippines Cultural Award in both Michigan and Florida, and a plaque from former California Governor Gerry Brown during the Browns for Brown campaign for her contribution to the arts. Amapola received the Key to Cebu City twice. The first for her achievement in conducting Toy Orchestras all around Cebu City elementary schools, and the second when she returned to her city for a Cebu Tourism Concert in tandem with Miss Cebu Tourism Beauty Pageant.
